Pressure-controlled valve for large electrolysers

Precise gas flow control on the H₂ and O₂ sides

Our pressure-controlled valve from the 2/977 series was specially developed for use in large-scale water electrolysers.

It reliably controls the gas flow and pressure on the hydrogen and oxygen sides and is designed for use in PEM and alkaline electrolysers.

The available flange connection design makes the valve particularly suitable for large nominal diameters and high volume flows in industrial electrolysis plants.

Typical applications in the electrolyser

  • Pressure and flow control on the H₂ side (product gas)
  • Pressure and flow control on the O₂ side
  • Use in header and collector pipes
  • Control valve in distribution lines and bypass lines
  • Integration into modular skids and container electrolyzers

Technical features

  • Design: Direct pressure-controlled poppet valve for gases
  • Media: hydrogen, oxygen, inert gases
  • Pressure range: 0 - 40 bar (other pressure ranges available on request)
  • Temperature range: −40°C to +95°C (medium)
  • Nominal diameters: DN15 to DN80 (other sizes available on request)
  • Connections:
    • Threaded connection (DIN ISO 228/1, NPT)
    • Flange connection (EN 1092-1, ANSI)
    • Other connection variants available on request
  • Materials (in contact with media): Stainless steel 1.4408, 1.4301
  • Seals: PTFE (BAM)
  • Control: pneumatic / electrical

Benefits for electrolyser manufacturers

  • High process reliability thanks to stable pressure and flow control on the H₂ and O₂ sides
  • Design for large-scale plants: large nominal diameters and high volume flows, ideal for MW to GW projects
  • Flexible integration thanks to socket or flange connection in accordance with common standards
  • Suitable for dynamic operation with highly fluctuating loads from renewable energies
  • Long service life thanks to robust design and suitable choice of materials
  • Project support from design to series integration
