At the beginning of training on 1 August, six new trainees started in four different apprenticeships at GSR Ventiltechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Vlotho-Exter: three cutting machine operators, one IT specialist in the field of system administration, one technical product designer and one businesswoman for marketing communication.
Ulf Lücke, Commercial Manager, and the training officers warmly welcomed the new apprentices on their first day. "We are happy about the committed young people who are now facing their first professional challenges at GSR," said Lücke.
To make the start as easy as possible, GSR organised an introductory event for the new colleagues that lasted several days. At a barbecue, a company rally or guided tours through various departments of the company, the trainees got to know each other and their new environment right at the beginning.
Afterwards, they went to the respective departments. In the near future, the trainees will pass through all relevant company departments. The special thing about GSR is that they are quickly integrated into the daily business, take on responsibility early on and actively work as part of the respective teams right from the start.
The valve manufacturer takes its social responsibility and especially the topic of vocational training very seriously. "Recruiting qualified skilled workers will become increasingly difficult in the coming years due to demographic developments," Ulf Lücke is certain. "Therefore, it is important to train the next generation early, in a qualified manner, in order to be able to cover our own needs." GSR currently employs 16 trainees, who, according to experience, remain with the company after their training.
From GSR's point of view, the vocational training of young people is also an innovative driver for the corporate culture: "We are looking forward to the fresh impulses that we also get with every start of training," says Ulf Lücke.
